I have FTM 16 and I'm needing to export Part of my file to share with a cousin. When I go to "File" and choose "Export File" I have choices of "Entire file, Selected Individuals, and Copy/Export Individuals. My problem: If I choose Selected Individuals, I am not exporting my Media. If I try to select Copy/Export Individuals....it is grayed out and will not let me choose it. How can I "fix" this problem? I have used Copy/Export in the past, but it has stopped working, I do want to share my pictures along with the data. I am age 85 and am not Computer Savvy, so I need a simple answer. Carmeletta
Carmeletta, After you have chosen the Selected Individuals, the Save Dialog box will open. Where is says, "Save As Type" be sure it says "Family Tree Maker (*.FTW). Saving it that way will include all of your media for those who are included in the file. It will NOT include all of the media items in your file, only for those individuals you have selected to include. If you Save As Type GEDCOM (*.GED) then NO media will be included. As was mentioned by another lister, the person you share your file with must have FTM 16 or a later version of FTM or a program that can open FTW files. I hope this helps.
