2012! Just checked with a tree that I had synched the other day. Well, it is a disaster for me. My sources have been rearranged to the Ancestry.com standard - not the one that I was "free" to do myself. As a result, all of my entries of "Social Security Death Index" just plain, no stuff from Ancestry on it - have been changed to Ancestry's own entry (many lines long.) This source is entered under a person's birth, death and social security number in my files - three entries. Ancestry removed two of the three, leaving many of my death and social security numbers blank - no source. Many of the other sources have also been changed by Ancestry. I am afraid to look at places.
Jeanne, Please be more specific about the changes you are seeing. Are you saying that you are syncing both ways (ie. from FTM to your AMT and your AMT back to FTM)? Where are you seeing the changes? In FTM or in the AMT? Sources are handled differently in the two applications. If your work is primarily in FTM then I recommend that you only Sync up to Ancestry and do not make changes in your AMT to sync back to FTM. In any event, please provide some examples of what you are seeing. It is extremely difficult to be of help when we don't know exactly what the problems are. Jeanne, Just checked one of the people in my file, and SS Death Index still shows up for four different facts for that individual. Can't address the Change in the Source Citation, since I just stay with the Ancestry standard for citation. However, I do remember seeing something in the Help file about Syncing relating to use of templates. Did the changes you are having a problem with sync back to your computer file? If not, then I would un-link, and do it again.
