a free way to go about this: when visiting a library, I use my I-Phone to look at Drop Box items I have stored there; great for genealogy docs, and I will load particular family reports in RTF. Not sure of any way to view gedcom's on an I-Phone though There have previous discussions on Drop Box that cover this better Brian -----Original Message----- From: ftm-tech-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ftm-tech-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of Patricia Olsson Sent: Sunday, July 31, 2011 12:52 PM To: ftm-tech@rootsweb.com Subject: [FTM-TECH] Gen programs for smart phones While we are talking about other programs, I have an iPhone and it would be wonderful to have my file loaded on it so that I could take only my phone while doing research. I do NOT have an ancestry subscription nor do I have my file uploaded to Ancestry (and will not.....don't get me started on why). Are there any other apps which are decent that will allow you to load a gedcom and view a pre-existing file? I got excited about the SAR applications that recently showed up on Ancestry. After initially figuring that they were not allowing printing, I thought that maybe someone out there had figured out a way to either store or print the applications? Help? Brian in So Cal
