David, I have a modest file of just under 3000 people. I ran into some memory problems when I was reorganising the Media files, about 1200 of them. My System is Vista Home Premium, 2gb memory, 325gig free space on the drive and a 12 meg FTM file. Since then I've decided not to keep all the Media in FTM because they are uploaded when I sync up to Ancestry and a fair number of them are under copyright, particularly Parish Registers from FamilySearch and other sites.
