I agree, John, in fact I have that place associated with almost 6000 people. All instances have been resolved to one place name. But if the USA is supposed to be turned off why does the Fast Fact enter it when I opt for the suggestion? Alternately, why doesn't the Fast Fact show the name without the USA on the end? It doesn't care if the place names meet the requirements for PNA or not. So, if a place name shows up in the suggested list, including the USA, that means that you still have that name in your file someplace including the USA. True, it is off For data Entry, I keep it turned ON, then turn it OFF when working on Charts and Reports.This keeps my data consistent and I can control the output. When you start to enter data, like "Cas" the Fast Fact will kick in and offer what you have used before. Currently, all Cass County, Indiana, USAs have been resolved to Cass County, Indiana (USA turned off), and Cass County, Indiana is the only entry in the PNA list. So, Cass County, Indiana, USA is likely to show up. But why, when I have the USA turned offdoes the program enter "Cass County, Indiana, USA" AND call it unresolved? Might the problem be that the PNA authority expects to see Cass, Indiana, USA as the Resolved Place Name.Then that is a program problem that needs to be addressed if it is being advertised that the program will recognize "County, Township, Borough, etc. You may have some Facts with the Place Name that you may not want still in use by someone. Have you looked at your Place Name Report?Yes, I am doing that now. But I don't want to have to spend 2 or 3 weeks every few months going thru it replacing the unresolved (with the USA on the end) with the resolved (without the USA). The correct resolved place name is already in the list. Here is the test that I just did. Cass County, Indiana(no "USA) is a resolved place name (just did it last night). I go to a new person and start to type in the birthplace. C-a-s. The program suggests Cass County, Indiana, USA. It does not suggest Cass County, Indiana. If I accept Cass County, Indiana, USA (hoping the USA will not show), I get Cass County, Indiana, USA. If I then go to Places, I have my resolved Cass County, Indiana AND a new Cass County, Indiana, USA that is unresolved.
