I have seen a few duplicates listed separately in the Places list, but haven't spent any time worrying about it. Frankly, I can't figure out that it makes any difference any place. There is no real problem with having duplicate Place Names. The only problem is when you add new people to the data base, you increase the number of choices you are offered.
