Is it shown in the right pane? Click on the CD icon in the right pane, what happens? 4. Highlight the CD icon in the right pane 5. Click the right mouse button and select Properties. 6. Click the Hardware tab? 7. Review the list of devices shown, is your CD drive there? 8. Click on the CD drive, Windows should show you the status of the device and whether it is working or not. 9. Place a CD in the device, do any of the icons change in the Computer dialog box. If you can't see any of this, I suspect your device is not working properly.
