Yes, you would have two trees on Ancestry.com. You can only have one computer or computer file linked to one tree on Ancestry.com. This is a feature many have requested but unfortunately, you cannot link and sync a single Ancestry Member Tree (AMT) to two computers. The reason for this is it is simply too difficult to keep all of the files in sync with each other. You could have some changes on your desktop computer, some changes on your laptop computer and even some changes on the AMT. How do the two computer and the online tree keep track of what has been synced with which tree? Judy has outlined how she accomplishes this single tree with two computer by syncing her file on her desktop to the AMT and then keeping a copy of the tree on DropBox which she can use on both computers. It takes considerable manual coordination to keep the files in sync and not lose data.
