    3. John, And do you have Van Diemen's Land in your places? Colony of New South Wales instead of NSW, Australia? I'm of 2 minds what to do about these and vacillate from one method to the other; keeping the original Colony names or just converting all to post 1901 names. 3. John, And do you have Van Diemen's Land in your places? Colony of New South Wales instead of NSW, Australia? No, but mainly because I don't have any events that occurred when they were the correct names. If I did I would likely use them and ignore the PNA. That is why I say that I don't use the PNA 100% of the time, there are valid exceptions. I do have a source for example, "Colony of Queensland" which is correct for the person involved, whereas later sources are "State of Queensland, birth, death, certificate etc I spell out New South Wales and do not use the common abbreviations NSW or N.S.W. The beauty of the PNA is that you can use it as little or as much as you want. Understand that and it all makes wonderful sense. Couple it with short place names and you have most bases covered John D

    3. John, I spell out the full name of New South Wales. I have a number of people who became forcible citizens of Van Diemen's Land.
