Can you describe exactly what your are doing when you "put a new source in my database"? What work area are you in when you input the new source? Are you adding a new Source (Source title i.e. a book or census)? Or are you adding a new Source-citation to a fact for an individual? How do you know the Index is being rebuilt? Is it blank or the names replaced by a busy icon? How long have you let it run before you close the program? I'm really at a loss as to why people are having problems with the Index. There is no logical connection between the Index and the sources nor with the automatic syncing feature of the data base.
