John, Yes I am very good at keeping a fully updated (monthly automatic updates and SP3 installed0 Windows XP. I have but one computer and am using the latest build of FTM 2011. The one fear I have is that I only have 1 MB of physical RAM and am using a Pentium III processor ... maybe I'm pushing the hardware too much for the FTM file size and task. If I have this failure occur again, I will perform you're suggested steps. You might examine how much virtual memory you have configured. If you have enough hard drive space free that you could bump up the virtual memory, it might help. Additionally, starting the program with almost nothing else running would be a help. If you have a smaller file than the one you normally use, you might try that with backup, just in case. If it were my system and I could backup my file using Windows rather than FTM, I could survive there well enough - just my two cents worth. John
