I haven't examined this issue in a long time but here is how you can find suggestions on how to do what you want. Open FTM 2011 Click Help and select "Online Help Center" Scroll down the page to "Search Knowledge Base" and click on the link The Knowledge Base search dialog box opens, Search for Splitting files There are several articles Hope this helps.
