For the reasons cited on my web site, they may be open to it. One thing learned in upper management is not to do things internally that are not your core competency. (outsource them!) Four years ago Ancestry/FTM bungled so badly by releasing an FTM program that mostly did not work, did not even have many of the features the previous version had. I swore that I would never run FTM ever again and spent four years evangelizing to my listeners about that. When they released the Mac version in December I looked at reviews and decided to see how they incorporated Evidence Style source templates. (not very well I found out! At least so far). But I found that the program otherwise was runnable. And salvageable, in my opinion, if they continue to develop it properly. But, four years ago, a genealogy program WAS NOT one of their core competencies (obvious to everyone who bought their piece of crap program at that point, and may only now be a tool to help sell subscriptions, in which case they should just get out of the program business, stick to the data gathering, may be happy to, and I've told them a way to do that. And a way that probably all genealogy program software companies would endorse if they get over the NIH (Not Invented Here) syndrome and want to stay in business for the long run.
