This caused the Windows file to be associated with FTM 2011. So when I attempt to open a FTM 2012 file, FTM 2011 is opened but doesn't recognize the file. So it offers to create a new tree. What happens if you go to the Plan work area, select the file name and use the Remove option to remove it from the list. You can then use the Browse to find and enter it again. There may be something that is a problem with the pointer to the file. Removing and re-adding it may correct the problem.
