Largely whatever suits you. The one rule you should apply to any entry is that if you are going to share, anyone looking at what you are doing should be able to understand it. I used to put the the postal address in the place field, but it was becoming totally unmanageable. The net result of dumping that part into the description field was a reduction in the places list of some 9000.
