I am not sure I understand what you mean by the two different "views". The two programs are different, the data file is converted from 16 to 2012 format and saved with a new name in that the file extension changes to .ftm from .ftw. [One might not notice this if the Windows default of hiding extensions for known file types has not been changed.] My personal plans are to load both FTM 16 and FTM 2012 at the same time, splitting the display. They use different data files, so I will be cautious to ONLY make my changes in 16, until I decide to change to 2012 as my primary program. One can see either program and its view, BUT your data is NOT identical once you make a change in one version or the other!!!!! John Okerson from Memphis, TN
OK, I really meant screen display. This was one of the new 2012 changes to help users of the older version adapt. I assumed that I could switch screen display at will. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Okerson" <johnokerson@gmail.com> To: <ftm-tech@rootsweb.com> Cc: <plan1@insightbb.com> Sent: Saturday, October 15, 2011 7:01 AM Subject: Re: [FTM-TECH] FTM 2012 view vs v16 view -how to switch? >> I sort of assumed you could switch between FTM 2012 view vs. FTM 16 view >> on the new version.
