I use 2 high res 24" screens side by side and set windows to extend the desktop across both screens. Works great for me - plenty of "Real estate" to have 2 copies of FTM running or FTM and a photo editing program or very wide hour glass charts, etc. Ok, are either of them higher than 1900 x 1200 by themselves? It does seem that a pair of monitors would be less expensive than the 27" iMac-style display.
