    1. Re: [FTM-TECH] Straight-line descendant reports
    2. I have found it to be best to send each person a pedigree in the form of family group sheets starting with themselves going back each generation. Unless I am dealing with people who are also working with online trees and I am not sure what they would do with info on living people. Then I just send them family group sheets for themselves and their parents and then I use copy and paste and list it from them backwards to the connecting person. However, depending on the family make up and the number of kids, once you get to the grandparents with their aunts and uncles who they should already know, the family group sheets from that point back usually will not have info on living people unless they are large families where there can be a 20 year gap between first and last chld. If that happens I usually withhold that particular sheet and tell them that since I am the family archivist and have been given a lot of info on living people with the understanding that I do not share it with anyone I cannot give them that group sheet. Usually that would be the grandparents' sheet and if they want the info bad enough they can get it from their aunts and uncles themselves. Annie in Minnesota In a message dated 9/12/2011 3:25:23 P.M. Others of us have his father as a common ancestor. I am working with FTM 16 on Vista Home Premium, and my question to the mailing list is this: is there a way that I can create a straight-line outline report from a specific cousin to the common ancestor. I would like to exclude, in each generation, those individuals who are not direct parents, grandparents and so on. I will appreciate any suggestions.
