    3. Don't know of any listing of accepted place names. Some of the ones on the Bing map are flagged. Just remember, PNA is an advisor, not a rule. Will donate some time to your place names right after I get all of mine resolved <G> John & Kathleen -----Original Message----- From: ftm-tech-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ftm-tech-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of John Okerson Sent: Sunday, September 11, 2011 4:15 PM To: ftm-tech@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [FTM-TECH] how to prepare files for use under FTM 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, so then probably for 2012 also > I'll join in the discussion <G>. Thanks. I am happy to add another's point of view. 1. PNA does not force you to do anything. It will flag any place names that it questions. However, you have the option to tell it not to question (Ignore) any specific entry that you want to use. 2. If you have the autofill option turned on, when you start to enter Memphis, it will show you a list of place names you have entered in the past and offer to click on any one of those. This is separate from the PNA questioning the specific format of that place name. 3. The 'flags' on a questions place name remain until you tell FTM to ignore the question, or correct the place name. 4. Resolve All Place names is a procedure to use where you go through all of the place names that are flagged, and tell FTM what to do with them, one at a time. I use this on my file when I have some time, and feel like cleaning up the left over disorganization from prior years a little bit. However, it is not an automatic computer decision. You decide what to do with each individual flagged entry. So, do you have a few spare weeks on your hands to work on my places listing? LOL I sure would like to find a listing of place names that the PNA deems acceptable!
