While it might seem counterintuitive, reducing the screen resolution would make the text appear larger, but less clear. A better option available within Windows 7 is to go through the Start button, Control Panel, Appearance and Personalization, Display and then check the SIZE of the selected font you have. The default is Smaller - 100%. You might try Medium - 125% or Larger - 150% to see what works best for you and your eyes. I do NOT have FTM 2011 so cannot report on that! I also use reading glasses when at the computer although I seldom need them elsewhere. Let me know if this works for you. John Okerson Memphis, TN

    3. I was faced with a similar situation. I tried using the FTM 2011 "large fonts" but found that window labels for the fields are truncated (cut off at the end) so I removed the check mark and reverted to the normal text size. I tried increasing the Windows font size to 125 % but experienced some problems with some programs so again I retreated. I tried reducing the resolution but found that equally unacceptable because I lost desktop work space and the lettering was not as crisp as I wanted. My original video car failed and I had to replace it. I found one with 1 gb of memory and an HDMI connection. Eventually my monitor also failed and I was searching for a replacement. I felt I wanted a larger monitor but couldn't find one reasonably priced. Eventually I found a 32 inch TV for less than $300. While it has a PC video connection, it has 2 HDMI connections. I can use it for an extra TV for the grand kids but I love it for the HDMI connection as a monitor for my PC. I set the resolution to 1360 X 768. It is great. I have large clear text regardless of my application but I also have lots of desktop space. The only problem is the grand kids fight to use it vs my wife's computer which has a 20 inch monitor just to play Mario Bros or to watch YouTube videos. Just another alternative. I have a 24" wide LCD flat screen with DVI by SOYO. It supports 1900 x 1200 which is quite suitable, for now. My video card is a MSI R6950 which has an AMD Radeon™ HD 6950 with 2 GB of GDDR5 RAM and is equipped with 2 Mini Display Ports, HDMI and 2 DVI. It has other features, but the important part is I would like to be able to connect to something like my wife's iMac 27" screen which has a widescreen TFT active-matrix display with 2560 by 1440 pixels, millions of colors and IPS technology. I could loose the 16:10 display I have now in exchange for the MUCH higher pixel count I believe. Anyone doing anything extreme like this in this list? Suggestions?
