Yes, I have Rosemary and multiple facts are shown in categories such as Birth, Marriage (as I said in my original posting) and for other facts. I use FTM 16, but a similar approach might work in 2011. The Outline Descendant Tree can produce multiple spouses and their parents' names. The only way I can export it is as a PDF and attachments are not permitted IIRC. I have been banging up against the single set of parents - the Preferred one - where I have a member who has Natural, Adoptive and Foster parents. I can individually select each of them as Preferred Parents and then create a document, BUT I would like to have all of them on one page without the maneuvering required to create a PDF from three separate PDFs. Anyone with an idea??? Just for interest, this member's son had not less than 14 'grandparents' still living by the time he was 7. (I use the term 'grandparents' loosely, for some of them were a generation older than that.) John Okerson Memphis, TN
OK, received and reviewed the PDF. It is of the Online Descendant Report and does so the parents of all spouses. Unfortunately, that particular option is not included in the FTM 2011 ODT. I prepared a Custom Report for selected individuals in my family file, using Family Tree Maker 2011. Among the facts that I chose to include were Spouse Name and Spouse's Parent's Names. When the report was generated, I was surprised to find that only the information for the first spouse and his/her parents was included. Is there a way to include ALL spouses/partners of an individual in such a custom report? I noticed that all the marriage information (date/location/description) is displayed for all marriages but, as I said, all the spouse names and the names of all the spouses parents are not displayed. I'd appreciate any help the group can provide. Tom Herson Ithaca, NY
OK Thanks. I'll look forward to receiving the PDF. Are you saying FTM 16's custom report lets you include multiple spouses and their parents? No, you always have to have one marked as preferred. Your only option is to generate the report, change the preferred spouse, generate the report, etc. The only place I have found to change the spouse preference is on People/Person/Relationship tab. Select the spouse and in the Info pane (one on the right) check the Preferred box. BJ On 8/18/2011 9:49 AM, Tom Herson wrote: > Thank you, BJ. The spouse and spouse's parents included on the report are for the "preferred" spouse. Unfortunately, removing the include preferred facts does not cause the other spouses and their parents to be included in the report. I have no problem using diacriticals under Windows XP with my old FTM 16 or under Mac OSX Leopard with Reunion. Since you are running on Mac hardware using "the XP partition" then you should have no problem. Some find it easier to insert diacriticals with the character map program John O mentioned. I found it easier to learn the "alt" numeric codes for the diacritical characters I used most frequently and just type them in. Use your favorite search engine to find out about diacriticals and Windows, or perhaps the windows help files or theres a knowlege base article on the M'soft site somewhere. I don't remember the precise Windows XP details well enough to give to write a step by step procedure for you. Sorry. jr

I cannot find it in the control panel so can't figure why it keeps showing up. Then someone told me IE is part and parcel of my Windows program and I cannot get rid of it. If that is true then there must be a way I can at least turn it off. Normally, Internet Explorer can be turned OFF by going to Start, Control Panel, Programs, Programs & Features, Turn Windows features on or off and then unchecking the box labeled Internet Explorer X where X is a number, 9 in my case with Windows 7 Professional SP1. Give it a whirl to see IF your system has something similar. Good hunting!
My problem is IE crashing constantly throughout the day. I cannot find it to delete it permanently. I understand this is because it comes along with Windows.
