For me, I generally use PC for anything other than Mac, and I have used both. I like Mac the best. I ended up purchasing and downloading MacFamily Tree for $27. I liked how this program has 12 years behind it and actually designed/written for Mac operating systems. I then uploaded my trees from Ancestry to my computer via GEDCOM (sorry if this is incorrect terminology) and then created new trees on my Mac from the GEDCOM files. I have had absolutely no crashes and everything seems to have copied over beautifully, except for the photos I put on Ancestry. MacFamily Tree takes some getting used to, just because I was so used to navigating Ancestry, but I have it open along with Ancestry to update anything/everything.
