In earlier versions of Family Tree Maker, yes, you did use the Slash. That was to separate the Place from the Description fields that you see in FTMM. The earlier versions only had a Location / Description field. One field for two purposes. Does that help? Russ Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Apart from it crashing regularly (see another thread), there is an other problem I reported but does not seem to have been addressed. Do not use forward slash "/" in the PLACE fields. The gedcom file will corrupt. When I reported this 12 months ago, it was acknowledged, but no other warnings or fixes were given. I had to use a text editor and laboriously change "/" to "_" Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Yes, under the NOTES in the Individual Report, there are subheads called PERSON NOTES. The first ones to show are person notes that I have added to FTMM. Then, there are 3 more headings, each labelled PERSON NOTES that have information that does not show up anywhere else but on the publishing of the Individual Report. I have attached a jpg of the file for you to see. Hope it goes through okay. Cathy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Zero (0) in the 3rd column means no Fact Notes. There are also notes for Citations. Please go to the Publish Workspace, select Peron, then Individual Report. On the RH Panel, Left most ICON is the Item to Include and use the Notes Check boxes. Do you see your other NOTES in the report? Author: CathyBurwood Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.software.ftmmac/118.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Thanks for replying to my post Russ. I went back to the individual on my tree and checked the number in the 3rd column, and there are zeroes beside all the Facts. However, I did look at the Notes Tab for each Fact (just to make sure) and there was nothing there either. The Notes Tab (default tab) that opens in the lower left corner contains only the Notes that I have included since my migration to FTMM. These other Person Notes have got to be embedded/hiding somewhere within the program. Your thoughts? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. But in FTMM there are two types of Notes. A Person Notes and Fact Notes. If you go to the People Workspace, Person View, in the Lower Left you will see a Notes Tab (should be the default tab that opens). The FACT notes are show in the upper part of that screen, as the 3rd number on the Right. Each Fact will have a number, usually 0, but if you see a number in the 3rd column, then select that Fact, and click on the Notes Tab in the RH Panel. Author: CathyBurwood Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.software.ftmmac/118/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Original software was Reunion, purchased Family Tree Maker 2010 for Mac and imported my family tree. Have been merrily going along and importing new information and family members from ancestry.com. Have gone back to an original family entry to edit information and print a new Individual Report and much to my surprise, under "Notes" there are Person Notes that I added since importing from Reunion, as well as Person Notes that are somewhere within the program and show up when I create the new Individual Report. I'm assuming these notes were in a section of Reunion that Family Tree Maker software didn't understand or didn't know what to do with them, so filed them away somewhere within the program. Can anyone tell me how I can access these 'hidden' Person Notes and bring them into the present Person Notes, so I can access and edit them?
