Not all census are coded the same, and there's a reason. Within the census itself, there is no evident relationship to the head of household. This stands for US Census 1870 and prior, Canadian 1881 and prior. I'm not versed in the UK, but maybe someone else can post those. When trying to merge census data for a family I was presented with only the head of the family and two children. None of the other children, nor the wife were presented as options to add to the merge, nor were other relatives living with the head of the family. In the past all individuals merge presented all individuals in the household and then asked if I wanted to merge them. Is this a bug? Is anyone else having this problem? I sent those in last night. When I did the screenshots the media count for the example jumped by 3 for the first time. I had previously only had it move 1. Changing dates, adding new individuals in etc. I know it can work, because I had no problems (well apart from quite a few software crashes) with it for the first two days, and the same information did sync both ways. It's a new problem and one which I can't seem to resolve. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. They had me perform an uninstall and then I reinstalled the program and now the Fact notes function works. I do not recall the advertising saying only some data will sync. 2. It syncs from the web to the software ok - this might make sense from what you are saying but I would expect any tech support to say that within a few minutes, not spend two hours on the issue then say they don't know what is wrong. 3. The data that did not sync was a child added did not sync, and a religion change did not sync, pretty basic stuff really Roger Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The two programs are simply not the same. The ACOM on-line tree program doesn't have the features (fields) the desk-top FTM for Mac2 has. Perhaps you can be specific about what data is not syncing. When I do the sync after changes to the FTMM2 tree the message I get is "The changes in the sync update are related to general tree structure and are not specific to data for people, media or sources". Although when syncing changes from FTM to Ancestry I get the change log message first saying 'changes are needed to bring the two trees into sync' - this then completes and I have a message saying the changes have been saved. However no changes are ever applied to my online tree. I have emailed tech support, but if anyone does know of a fix I'd love to know. I've tried unlinking trees, deleting the software and reimstalling and registering but still get the same issue Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. IF the software works its going to be the best out there, but I have little confidence in their effort on fixing it. Partly that's due to their general tardiness, and partly to the fact its not their software, but they rebadge and resell it from Avanquest. You'd think someone would have a) thought of a cloud strage system for this type of software b) come up with a way of importing all the data from another software package.
