My records begin when an Elias Beale (Beall/Beal) moved the family to Belmont County from Guernsey County. Belmont County 1860 Census (Pease Township) Elias "Beale" - age 33 - born in Maryland - farmer Martha J. - 29 - Ohio (Martha Jane Fryer?) David S. - 10 - Ohio Precie - 8 - Ohio William H. - 6 - Ohio Rebecca J - 4 - Ohio Rachel - 2 - Ohio Elias - 4 mos. - Ohio An entire boatload of Bealls (including several Eliases) are buried in Belmont County in Crabapple Cemetery near the Harrison County line off Rte. 9. (The names on the tombstones are "Beall.") Rachel Adaline (my great-great grandmother and the 2-year-old of that census) died of uterine cancer in 1916. Her father is listed as Elias "Beal." Her mother is listed as a Martha "Crowey." (The handwriting listing the mother's name on the death certificate is a different hand. It appears to have been written at a later date by somone else. Also, the last name is difficult to decipher as far as spelling, so her mother's last name is somewhat suspect.) I have the death certificate for Martha J. "Beall"!!!! She was born in October 1836. She died of old age at the age of 79 and is buried next to Rachel. Martha J.'s mother is listed as a Jane Fryer from Ireland. Her father is listed as a William Anderson of Virginia. (Hence the slight confusion over Martha's real last name.) Do you have ANY information on Martha J's family and Jane Fryer? HELP! :>) :>) Jane
