    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: seedytoe Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.fryer/472.1.2.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I believe there could possibly have been two different Fryer families in Monmouth area, mine are the Monmouth town crew, although they are spread around a bit more these days! Most of the research I have been able to follow has been descended from Thomas Fryer(c1775) and his wife Elizabeth(possibly Lewis) They married 18/7/1802. Thomas' parents, I believe, were John and Sarah but where they were born, I have no idea. There was an Edward Fryer married to Frances (Griffiths?) in 1790. As there seem to be very few Fryers in Monmouth around 1790 - 1800 it could be very likely that this Edward and "my" Thomas were brothers. I have so far found for Edward and Frances, only one son Ewdard(1806)and daughter Elizabeth(1803), although possibly another son William (1796). Edward(1806) married a Maryann and the 1841 census has his occupation as fisherman, they seem to have had three children William(1827), Anne(1835) and Isabella(1837). That is the total of information I have on that b! ranch, so I have no idea if there were movements of those Fryers into neighbouring counties at a later date but would be very interested to find anything about this family.
