Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/gUX.2ACEB/58.99.1 Message Board Post: Alvin, You are in luck I have just been doing research on my collateral line of Richardson the past few days to help tie in Fryer/Fryar's and their spouses. Emily Richardson was born about 1824 She was married to William Fryer and also Thomas Pope. She was the daughter of Richard Richardson and Lucy Brock. Richard and Lucy were married on July 9, 1822 in Franklin County, MO and can be found in the 1830 Franklin County, MO Census, St. John's Township, Page 135 and in the 1840 Gasconade County, Mo Census. Grandparents of Emily Richardson and parents of Richard Richardson were Daniel Richardson and Nancy Ann Scott. Daniel and Nancy were born in Kent Island, Queen Anne, MD and both died in Franklin County, MO. Daniel's parents were Amos and Lucy. Richard's brother Gideon Richardson was also in the 1830 Franklin County, MO Census, St. John's Township, Page 134. 2 houses from him on one side lived the family of Clayton B. Hinton and 2 houses from him on the other side lived the family of John Doyel. Clatyon Hinton married Richard and Gideon's sister Sarah Richardson. I am making an educated assumption that John Doyel is the brother of Edmund Doyel who married Betsy Fryar on 1/22/1829 in Franklin County, MO. Betsy was the daughter of George Fryar and Mary Unknown. Known siblings of Betsy were Richard, William, Catherine, Sally, and Jesse. Per the 1830 Franklin County, MO Census Calvey Township Page 145 they also had some other siblings yet unknown. 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Richard and Betsy were not on the 1830 census with their parents as they were both married in 1829. Back to the Richardson's... a considerable amount of them migrated west on the OR trail and settled in all parts of OR and WA. My Fryar's moved on to Howell County, MO and from there to CO and WA. George and Mary Fryar were my 5th-great-grandparents. William Fryar born 1811-1815 in TN and son of George Fryar and Mary Unknown. This William married Winneford Griffith on 4/21/1839 in Franklin County, MO. A known child was William M. Fryar born 6/19/1849 in MO and died 7/30/1916 in Yell County, AR. Your William could be the William born 1811-1815 or another William relative. Do you have the marriage date and location for Emily Richardson and William Fryar? A copy of the marriage license should indicate the number of other marriages for them. FYI: About 1880 my Fryar's changed the spelling from Fryer to Fryar in a family bible. Prior to the spelling of Fryar the name was spelled and misspelled Friar and Frier. Hope this helps.... :0)
