Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. My Fryer line is from Edgecombe Co., NC. The only two proven sons of "the widow" Mary Fryer are Jesse (b. abt 1780) and Alexander (b. abt 1782). In 1793 Mary Fryer bought the property she had previously rented. Jesse married Ailsie Green and continued to live in Edgecombe Co. His brother Alexander (my ancestor) went south to Bladen/Columbus Co., NC (where he married Sarah Lucas). He is next in Darlington Dist.. SC., (ca 1813--1834) and lastly in Pike Co., AL. I have been unable to prove the father of Alexander and Jesse. I am interested in Fryers in Wilson and Nash Cos. which are adjacent to Edgecombe Co. for possible clues. Suggest you look at the Fryer page on GenWeb as there are many people researching Sampson Co. Fryars/Fryers. ----- Original Message ----- From: James T Fryar <fryar@helicon.net> To: Addice Thomas <addice36@erols.com> Sent: Saturday, February 12, 2000 8:24 PM Subject: Re: Fryars/Fryers from North Carolina in Civil War > I am just beginning a genealogy search. > My grandfather was William David Fryar > originally from Sampson County.
