    1. Nancy Fryer
    2. I'm trying to find the parents of my 4th great grandmother Nancy Fryer who married 1) William F. Whitfield June 12, 1827 in Burke County, Georgia and 2) Benjamin Davis Hill May 23, 1833 in Burke County, Ga. Nancy was b. December 20, 1805 and d. bef. 1860. both events were in Burke Co., Ga. She had children from both marriages. There was a John Fryer in Burke Co. in 1764 who was asking for land. States he had been in GA. 1 yr and had a wife and 8 children; He may have been Nancy's grandfather but I have nothing to confirm this. I have found an Aaron Fryer in 1764 who had been in Ga. 8 months with a wife and 2 children but he also would be too old to be her father. I found a John, Fielding, Robert and Zachariah but haven't found enought inforamation to say that anyone of them is probably her father. I'm hoping someone will know of these people and can help me put the pieces together. Thanks, Mary Ellen

    1. Robert Frier/Fryer
    2. Bill Hunter
    3. Hi List, I keep getting questions about the Robert Frier who married Christiana Hunter in Washington county TN in 1792. Robert and Christiana settled in Madison county KY where he died in 1819. All his children are named in land records in Madison county. Only two of his sons, Absolom and James, left descendants. Absolom moved to Oregon and left two sons, John and Thomas. James moved to MO and left only one son, Robert. Both Absolom and James left female descendants. So all of you who are trying to graft onto Robert and Christiana (Hunter) Frier should move on to another Frier/Fryer family. If you are truly descended from Robert and Christiana I have a considerable amount of info on their descendants. Hope this helps some of you. Bill Hunter

Surnames: fryer Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/gUX.2ACEB/263.1.1 Message Board Post: My grandfather's brother, John Richard Fryer (born circa 1875), may have immigrated to Australia. Word had it that the three brothers, George William, Alexander C., and John Richard (maybe went by the name Richard) had applied for immigration papers to Australia and Canada and whatever country responded first that is where they went. The other two brothers came to Canada in about 1920-1. They also had a sister Mary Ann Fryer (born circa 1870). John Richard supposedly went to Australia. I do not know if John Richard was married or if he had any children before he left England. (ie I do not know if Charles may have been a son of his). Their father was Joseph Fryer (bricklayer) and their mother Mary Ann Coulson of West Hartlepool, Durham England. In the 1891 census they lived in Stranton West Hartlepool, Durham England at 42 Gainsford Street. John Richard is listed in the 1891 census in England as being a bricklayer's apprentice. Any info posted would be of help to eliminate or include them in the family. Thanks for the reply. Barb

    3. Hi, I am the gg granddaughter of Thomas Fryer and the ggggranddaughter of Francis Fryer. Thomas Fryer was the son of Francis Fryer and Mary Welch and was born in Aylesbury, England in 1844 , baptizes at St Mary's Church. Francis Fryer ( his second marriage - widower) married Mary Welch also at St Mary's church. I am pretty sure Francis's father was William and he was born around 1796 in the Aylesbury area. I am looking for information about the families of Francis and William At some point after Thomas' birth , the family immigrated to Belfast, Northern Ireland. I am looking for marriage information on Thomas. He married Priscilla Jane Maunder. I think the marriage took place around 1880. There children were Thomas(my grandfather),Lillian, George,Nathaniel,Frederick, and Evelyn. There may have been other children who did not immigrate. The family then immigrated through Canada and settled in Weymouth, Massachusetts. Any help that you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Linda Fowler
