    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: FRYER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/gUX.2ACEB/275 Message Board Post: Did any of your FRYER ancestors workor travel on the railroads? Or were any involved in train-related mishaps? I have just created a message board on Ancestry.com for U.S. Railroad Accidents. There is already at least one posting involving a FRYER. PLEASE BE FOREWARNED THAT SOME OF THE NEWS ARTICLES ARE GRAPHIC in regard to injuries and deaths. Employment on the railroad and train travel involved many dangers and tragedies over the years. If you have news articles or stories regarding accidents that occurred on the railroads, in train depots, on train bridges, etc., please post them on the Railroad Accidents board along with ALL surnames involved. And be sure to check the board for your surnames. Stories will be added regularly. The new board is here: Boards>Topics>Disasters>United States>Railroad Accidents Go to main Message Boards Page. Under topics click on “browse all topics.” Click on Disasters. Click on United States. Click on Railroad Accidents. If you think you’ll want to return to this category regularly, go to the Railroad Accidents message board and from just above the messages click on Add to Favorites or Add to Notifications. This will make it much easier to access the Railroad Accidents board on future visits to Ancestry.com.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/gUX.2ACEB/131.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: I believe Sarah is Sarah Jack who married John Fryer 11/7/1804 in Knoxville, Knox, TN. William would then be brother of Jeremiah Fryer, Sr. and John A. Fryer, Jr. Due to the date of marriage these children would more likely be children of John Fryer and his 1st wife who is unknown. John was s/o William Fryer and Margaret Love who married abt 1753 in County Down, Ulster Province, Ireland. John and Sarah are supposed to be charter members of the French Broad Baptist Church in 1786 in Jefferson County, TN. Sarah is aka Sally. John is supposed to have received a land grant in 1799 in Sevier County, TN. Curious if Amanda Harris who married Sevier Fryer is kin to your Harris line. Sevier was s/o Jeremiah Fryer, Sr. & Rebecca Lovelady. IF you prove kinship I suspect your father and mother may be distant kin. Your line is the line of Irish Fryer's, mine I believe is the English Fryar/Fryer's. However there are some parallels and locations that just can't be ignored. Someday a connection may be found overseas in these lines or they may just be two distinct lines. DNA testing of these distinct lines could prove if there is any connection there. I also have other connections with Ulster, Ireland and that fact I can't ignore either. Also I have a lot of Harrises that cross into my lines. I gleaned your Harrises from another of your posts but would appreciate dates to see if I can find any connections with the Harrises I already know of. I will continue to have only John Peter Fryer as a child of Jeremiah Fryer and Rita Rodriguez unless I uncover the names of the other 5 children. John Peter Fryer was born 1890-1899 in Florence, AZ.

I have limited info on John Peter Fryer that Tami posted. Also do you know which Fryer line Jere(miah) connects to? The 1850 census has his parents being born in KY. I assume the death certificate lists his parents names. Most of the Jeremiah's I know of connect to an Irish Fryer line and I suspect Jere connects to them and I would love to connect him.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/gUX.2ACEB/262.1.1 Message Board Post: Sounds like you are talking about John Fryer, Sr. and Sarah Jack. However I don't believe Sarah would have been the mother of William as they didn't marry until 11/7/1804 in Knoxville, Knox, TN. John and his Unknown 1st Wife are already linked to being the parents of Jeremiah Fryer, Sr. and John A. Fryer, Sr. John was son of William Fryer and Margaret Love. There are DAR records on William as he was a private in Capt. John Ingall Company 2nd NC Regiment commanded by Col. John Patton. This is my only clue to what part of NC. I haven't tracked this Regiment down yet. I have references and extractions to the DAR Fryer patriots but don't have the documents. If anyone has them it would be very helpful to me as I have been working on a lot of different Fryer/Fryar's in the US. William's line I refer to as the Irish Fryer's as William was born in County Down, Ulster, Ireland. Also interested in the 1830 census info mentioned in the prior post. John Fryer, Sr. I don't believe would have been on any 1830 census as he is supposed to have died 1815-1820 in Sevier County, TN. His death date is not corroborated though so it could be in error. I may have this census but just haven't copied it to the correct branch. Jefferson, Sevier and Knox Counties TN border each other and are near the NC border. John was born abt 1758 in NC. Sarah Jack was born abt 1762 in Knox County, TN and died in Knox County, TN. I haven't verified these dates.

I wrote several weeks ago that I did not think there was any connection to my great uncle Jere Fryer and Rita Rodriquez. I am proofreading a book soon to be published about Jere and Pauline Cushman. I just came across a chapter that states that he had six children in the 1890s with Rita Rodriquez. The information does not state that they actually married, and the death certificate filed in Tucson in December 1902 states that he was single. There are a lot of pieces to this puzzle that can be put together and I would like to share information with you. PAULINE HALL e-mail "herb.hall@verizon.net".
