He was Edward Giles Fryer, born 1987 in Tynemouth. I think his fathers name was Joseph and his mother was Isabella (nee Giles). He had three brothers - Joseph, Oliver and Walter. Do any of them show up on your family trees at all? I have not been able to go back any further than that so far. I have an obituary about Thelma Friar, sister of Ruth Friar, but it didn't give any earlier information. Both Thelma & Ruth Friar married into the Carmon family in the Florence Cty., SC area. I am trying to find out as much as I can about this family, but am running into roadblocks for sure. I cant believe it Its wonderful! My Ethel Fryer was born of Joseph Fryer and Mary Ann Coulson, April 11th 1886 . She was my grandfather George Williams sister. I also know of a descendant of Alexander C Fryer another brother of hers. I have a list of the birth dates of all the children, the siblings of Ethel Fryer and some death dates as well of some of her siblings. All the men in this HH are working for the railroad. William was born <1847> somewhere in VA. J. FRIER is a stone cutter, married and is living about 3 houses from this boarding house. Do not know when J. FRIER came to KY. Searching for any info on these VA-born FRYER/FRIER/FRYAR (any spellings) brothers. J. Frier is found after this 1870 census. William has disappeared.
