    3. I am attempting to post this message again as I don't think I was properly subscribed to the list when I sent it several weeks ago. If it did post and there were responses, I apologize for this request for repeat help. Here goes and thanx for member patience and assistance. Greetings, I am having a difficult time finding info on my FROELING part of the family and thought that there might be individuals on this list who could assist me. While I know anything is possible is it likely that FROELING is an alternative to FROELICH? My 2nd great-grandfather, Gottfried FROELING born Germany Jan 1, 1835, immigrated to Eau Claire, Wis in 1884. In our few family records and the Eau Claire censi it is spelled FROELING, but they are the only family. When I search through ship's passenger logs a FROELING pops up very very rarely. Do I really have the correct spelling or is this an Americanized version of FROELICH? Do any of you have suggestions to assist me in furthering my research on this part of my family? Thanx for taking time to help this "almost" cousin.
