    3. Hi Maxine Thank you for the information on the reunion. I hope your turnout will be many. Reunions are so much fun and at them, you can gather a great bit of information from relatives that you know and maybe even some you dont. Make sure to meet the eldest person of the Hoffman/Froehlich line and talk to them, you can learn so much and also gain a new insight for searching in places you may have never thought of. Good luck and have a great time! This should be exciting. There will also be an auction of articles you may want to bring and the food line should be open about 12:30. Please let me know if you need more information. Maxine Friedly

    1. FYI from ROOTSWEB
    2. Shirley Fergus
    3. Hello Folks Rootsweb is going through some changes. New Equipment etc. They are experiencing some problems (see below) Please if you have any problems postiong or receiving any list mail Please be Patient they will get things sorted out In the meantime please keep checking the lists Archives. Rest assured our lists are still up and running and everyone is still subscribed. You can also keep up with what is going on at Rootsweb by going to their Homepage and scroll down to the FAQ site. Happy Hunting Shirley List Mom 1 MAIL LIST MIGRATION: 2006-08-21 Mail List Migration on Hold We have run into an email delivery problem that affects our AOL list subscribers. In order to minimize the effect on AOL subscribers, the update of mailing lists D-Z has been delayed until the problem can be resolved. We will post an announcement here and update the schedule when the AOL problems have been resolved and we can begin migrating again. Thank you for your patience. RootsWeb mail lists will be moved to the new Mailman software starting Thursday, August 17. The lists will be moved in small groups, alphabetically. An email went out to inform list users of the change. If you have any questions, a list has been created list-update@rootsweb.com for discussion of the updates and answering questions during the transition. To subscribe to the list, send an email with the word "subscribe" in the subject line to: List-Update-request@rootsweb.com If you would like to subscribe to the list digest, please send an email with the word "subscribe" in the subject line to: List-Update-D-request@rootsweb.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2 AOL PROBLEM WITH LISTS9: 2006-08-21 Our mail lists have run into an AOL problem that significantly delays and/or deletes AOLer's list mail before it is delivered to their inbox. It also could cause some AOL subscribers to bounce and be unsubscribed from their list(s). This is happening primarily with the lists from lists9 which has most of the mailing lists that have been migrated to Mailman. We are doing everything we can to work with AOL to fix this. Users should make sure all list mail that gets directed to the spam folder is marked "This is not spam". They should also contact AOL directly about the delay and deletion of their list mail. We apologize for the inconvenience. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3 DIGESTS IN MAILMAN: 2006-08-21 The default for digests in Mailman is plain text. If you prefer MIME and your ISP can handle that, email the admin to 'uncheck' the plain text button for your subscription. MIME is not recommended for AOLers. Email the admin at: LISTNAME-admin@rootsweb.com where you replace LISTNAME with the actual name of the list. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 11 Confused about the new registration?: 2006-07-06 The new registration is stage one of a process to integrate all of the programs you use at RootsWeb into one account. Although the My Account page lists all of the services you subscribe to, we have not yet fully integrated each service. For example, if you have one or more WorldConnect user codes, the 'edit' link in My Account will allow you to access the user edit page of each GEDCOM file you have included in WorldConnect. Mailing lists integration, however, has not been completed so although you can unsubscribe to a mailing list through My Account, you cannot yet change your email address for that mailing list through this new tool. When the new message boards are launched, logging in to RootsWeb will automatically log you into message boards. The old (current) message boards will not be included in My Account. We apologize for the confusion.

    1. LDS Digitizing Books, on-line NOW at BYU !!!
    2. Shirley Fergus
    3. A dream coming true. The Family History Library is starting to digitize their book holdings, mostly family histories to date, and they are putting them on-line, fully search able by any word or advanced search combinations. Five thousand plus of these books are on the Brigham Young University Library servers and readily accessible, NOW! Here is a partial clip of an announcement I just received and I have only made a quick check of how to find them and how to search, but it is very exciting "The LDS Family History Library has announced that it has begun the process of digitizing and making available on the Internet all of the Family History books in their collection. These are primarily books in the "929.273Series" that are currently housed on the first floor of the Family History Library (previously housed on the fourth floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building). At the present time (September 2005), about 5000 books have been digitized and are available, and they have announced that they are adding about 100 titles a week to the on-line collection. Copyright issues are playing a role in determining the order in which they progress through this task; books out of copyright are being done first." Go to the web site of the Harold B. Lee Library at BYU at http://www.lib.byu.edu/ , then on the home page, follow the links:Find Other Materials; Electronic; On Line Collections at BYU; Text Collections tab; Family History Archive from the list of collections that are displayed. The search box on the left seems to be he one to find your books at and the search box on the right is for searching within the pages on screen. Have Fun Searching Shirley Fergus List Mom

    2. Shirley Fergus
    3. Hello Everyone I would like to thank Kathie Harrison of the Lancaster Co., NE GenWeb Project for the following. I hope everyone will take time to read it and remember it. Shirley List Mom Since we are fast approaching summer and many of you are out there enjoying vacations or trips of a genealogical nature, please be sure to share with us, your new found cousins, family history and research tips or plans. The lists tend to get a bit quiet this time of year and there are also many who can't travel or otherwise research outside the home. We are more tied to our computers for that research and friendship in our family history quest. So...........I think it would be great to take this opportunity to post something. Who is your most elusive ancestor as in connection to this specific list? What are your goals? Do you have tips to share? A genealogy web site, perhaps? A flair for writing and sharing a family story or tradition with us? I will try to prod the list from time to time for some good posts to keep our list alive and kicking. Please jump in when ready, just as if you were jumping into the pool....the Gene Pool. ;-)

    3. I am stuck on my great-grandmother, Emma Agnes Fralick. She was born in 1858 in Pennsylvania. Her father was Samuel Fralick and her mother Catherine A. Fralick ( I don't know her maiden name). She married William Hazlett of Allensville, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. They moved to Rolette County, North Dakota, where she died about 1943. They had four children: Winfield, another son, Verna, and about twenty years later, my grandmother, Mary Adeline. Is this familiar to anyone out there?
