Since I posted the initial query, I have managed to get a fairly extensive census trail on much of the family, but have not gone over the ocean to Danzig yet. We recently got Great Uncle PJ's photograph album and in it is a newspaper clipping of Renetta and Peter J's (50th?) wedding anniversary celebration and it mentions the village they all came from so I'll start there when I get back into research. There are a few pics of John Frisch and Renette Williams as well as Renetta and Peter J and of course Emma and Richard, Frank, Pauline, etc.. We'll have to compare information to see where our gaps are so we can fill in the blanks. My father was Eddie Lane and he passed away when I was a year old. My sister is Brenda and my mother was Mary Cotton. Brenda is 5 years older than I am, and she remembers Daddy, and Grandma carried to a degree. I never knew much about Daddy's family. I have searched and hit brick walls for ages trying to connect with MY family in Rochester. Norma was married to a Guilliand ( not sure of the spelling), but her children are all in Rochester; 1 boy Jim and 2 girls ( I can't remember their names. After Daddy died Grandma Carrie came to visit a couple of times, but the last time I heard from her was when I was 18. I never knew anything about my Daddy's Daddy other than Patrick Lane). Norma said they never anything to do with them. Up until I was able to locate Norma I never had but 1 picture of Daddy. Norma sent me a few that I had reprinted. I would love to have whatever pictures your mother has, let me make reprints of them, and I will ! send them back. I would deeply appreciate it. Up until Norma sent me some I did not have any pictures of Grandma Carrie. My mother was very closed about anything concerning Daddy or his family. She didn't tell Brenda or I anything much about Daddy. Brenda lives in Oregon and has 3 children. She vaguely remembers coming there a couple of times, but she was little and could not remember very much. I would greatly appreciate any information you could give me. Peter Gustave Frisch married Caroline Barb ara Brutsche. They had 9 children. I have Mary being born April, 1891. Peter Frisch's father was Mathias, and his mother was Barbara( maybe Hardgarther ?). My grandmother, Caroline married William Joseph Lane and from what I understand it was not a favored marriage a French/German girl married an Irish man. They had my father, Edwin William Lane, and his sister Norma. I understand that Norma has children living in Rochester, a son named Jim and 3 daughters. Margaret was born in Germany and about 1844/5 (about age 7) came to the US. John died shortly thereafter and Margaret's mother remarried to John ?NEIGHORN. This family is believed to be the one listed in the 1850 census for Cole Co, MO as: Dwelling #336, John Neakhorn 32, Margaret 34, Anna M 12, Margaret 11 (all born Germany) and Adam 2 born in MO. There is also some confusion about whether she is the first or second wife of Benjamin FRISCH. The Morgan Co, MO history book says that Benjamin married 1st to Margaret Neichborn and 2nd to Margaret Keisling. However, so far no other supporting documentation has been found for this alleged first marriage. Since Neichborn is suspiciously close to Neighorn, it is possible that the history book writers had both last names for Margaret and assumed they were two different people.
