I am in search of C. (Cornelius?) SMOCK who disappeared (apparently died) before 1816. He was from Cave in Rock, Pope Co., IL Terr. He left a widow and a large family. He and his family are in the USC 1810 Randolph Co., IL Terr. It has occurred to me that he may be one of the soldiers who lost his life (drowned) while being transported to or from New Orleans on a river boat. Is there any record of these losses?
