    2. David French
    3. Hi Al, Thanks for the information about your Daniel. I had always wondered who he was and from whence he came. I assume he is the same Daniel that is listed in the 1790 U.S. Census, Beaufort County, Newbern District. It lists him and one slave. Did he remain in North Carolina or did he return to Connecticut? Also, has anyone from your line participated in the French Surname DNA project? Thanks Again, David Subject: Daniel French 1770-1853 Date: Thu, 22 Jul 2004 07:31:01 -0400 From: Eleanor and Al Maass <[email protected]> To: [email protected] To David French and List, Item #7, French letter to his wife was written by Daniel French (1770-1853)to his wife Sarah residing in Litchfield Co or New Haven Co., CT in 1807 Daniel was to operate his patented shingle machine in the Great Swamp area of North Carolina. To anyone interested in Daniel French or his parents Daniel (1746-1784) and Eunice (Hubbard) French of Berlin, Hartford Co,., CT. I shall be glad to share additional information. By coincidence the e-mail from [email protected] is also a feature. After trying to establish Lamberton as a town in NJ and being told by NJ libarians that it was either Lumberton or Lambertville I am delighted to find a specific reference to First Baptist Church of Trenton and Lamberton, Hunterdon Co., NJ. Daniel French set up his patented shingle machine in Lamberton in 1802 for Nathan Combes. Again I shall be glad to share information. Al. Maass
