Lafford's pension application reveals a birth in NJ. NJ records substantiate this fact with date (1753) and parents, Joseph (II) and Hannah (Horn) FRENCH. The 1749 marriage of Joseph (II) and Hannah is also recorded in NJ. It is the link to Joseph (I) and Allee as parents of Joseph (II) that is the weak point. Best regards, Hugh
