Julia, I'm curious why DNA Test Group 6 is the only one with no documented ancestors. Did not those persons testing for Jacob, Samuel and William have any documentation showing how they are related to these three persons? I'm also curious about he data. I notice there apparently, if I understand correctly, one mutation in DYS 393 between these three individuals who comprise Group 6. Is that correct? And, of course, what does it mean? I also notice, for example, there are several mutations between William French in Group 6 and John French in Group 1. But, there are many DYS groupings that share the same number. Does this correspond to a relationship between the two? And, has anyone done a definitive study on the persons in the various groups? Or, is that part of the overall project? I can trace my French ancestors to William in Group 6, but I am not a male French, so cannot be tested. As far as I know, I only have one male French surviving and he apparently is unwilling to take the test. Unusual of a retired college professor, I would think, but . . . I am trying to have him convinced to join the project. He is in his 80s, so am not sure why the reluctance. Thank you.
