I am not sure of Palmer L French, but the FRENCHES married the HOUNSLEAS and the HOUNSLEAS were related to the LYONS. Near the end of the 19th Century, the HOUNSLEAS had several businesses. I was told, that Plumbing supplies (including gold plated) was one of their businesses. They sent sons to manage exhibit halls in Large Cities and Resort Areas, e.g. San Francisco, St.Louis, NYC, Philadelphia and ACNJ to name a few. Some of the Families remained near those locations--Look there.
