Well, the Mary Clark who married Aaron French is unrelated, AFAIK, to the Clarks who married two of their children. Mary, as I assume you know, was from Ireland and her parents James and Agnes (Galbraith) Clark were b Scotland. I have a couple more generations, though if you have anything before the James Clark b about 1656 I'd be interested. Anyway the Isaac Clark who married Deborah French and the John Clark, Sr. who married Mary French were both sons of Samuel Clark and Rachel. He was b about 1740 and d 1802 in Washington Co., PA Samuel Clark was the son of Isaac Clark b 1712 in Elizabethtown, Essex Co., NJ and he the son of another Samuel Clark b 1673 Southhampton, Sussex Co., NY and he the son of the immigrant Richard Clarke b about 1640 Bradwell, Suffolk, England. Going back in England I show a Richard and a Thomas Clarke b about 1592. Now I'm just relying on various on-line trees for most of this, but that's my best analysis of what I've found. The Samuel b about 1740 is easy to locate as he had a big farm in Amwell Twp., Washingon Co., PA. This wasn't far from my Evans ancestor David Evans, Sr. And at least Aaron French, Jr lived just across the Ten-mile Creek in Greene Co., PA. Aaron French, Jr., John Clark, Sr. and Washington Evans (son of David) all three moved to Monroe Twp., Licking Co., OH. John's daughter Eunice married Washington's son "Elder" John Evans and that's my line. If you want more, let me know. Hi Dave, Do you have any record of Samuel French, b. 1826. Born in PA per 1870 census; born in WV per 1880 census. Some of his children were born in Greene Co., PA. His wife was Mary Ann Goode, b. 1838 in PA. I'm trying to find his parents. He is my wife's g-grandfather. Thanks.
