Yup. My brain broke on that one. Wrong surname. Good question - Sumner was my father's middle name. There was a Sumner Tanner in Ashland, WI and perhaps a US President whose middle name was Sumner. Have you been following the exchange here: [FRENCH] WILLIAM OF BILLERICA and JACOB OFASSINGTON--DNAevidence for a close relationship ----- Original Message ----- From: Jonathan Whitney To: french@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, February 05, 2007 7:28 PM Subject: Re: [FRENCH] French Family in VT Scott, Am not ignoring you. Have been extremely busy and no time, but did just read your latest interchange. Quickly, I don't think doing a DNA test will do me any good since I'm not a French male. I did the Whitney DNA test, so if there is some way that researchers can take a look at my DNA from that, or if there is something new in DNA testing that I don't know about, please let me know. Things should ease up a little by Wednesday afternoon and I'll try to squeeze in some time for some thoughtful responses. Oh, someplace you mentioned the name "Sumner." My French family has a couple of "Sumners" in it: Norman Sumner French and another with Sumner as his first name. Do you know where the Sumner in your family originated?
