    1. Re: [FRENCH] Warner French
    2. Deb S., This is interesting to me because my French is a brick wall for me. And there is a Warner connection and a Fielding in my ggf's name. The Warner is a village near Syracuse NY and my ggf was Francis Fielding Martin. There is no Fielding that I can find in the Martin family so, perhaps the French family is the source of the Fielding. The Martins were from Red Hook, Dutchess, NY and Claudius Edward French returned to the area from the Civil War and married a Hannah Mary French who went by the name of Mary. He went by Edward. They went to live in Illinois for several years as Edward's uncle owned large tracts of land in that area. My ggf was born in Joliet IL. They returned to NYS and settled in Warners, NY. If any of this strikes a cord I would love to hear from you.
