Deb...I read your note with great interest. Do you have Henry & Elizabeth's children? I used to live in Vermilion co. IL and have heard that our French line connected to Ersom. I personally feel that a group of French's in Vermilion co. IL, Warren, Fountain, & Vermillion counties in IN were related but we haven't been able to prove it. They were not far apart and obviously came up the Wabash River. As to the spelling of Ersom or Earsom, it sometimes depended on the literary skills of the person writing it. Also, there was a time when it was fashionable to be able to spell one's name in different ways. Hoping to hear from you.
