Dear French families, I am the great great grandson of Daniel and Harriett (nee Beams) French who emigrated to Tasmania Australia, from North Leigh Oxfordshire. I would love to make contact with any living descendants of this line. My furtherest research back for the French line is as follows: a) Daniel French (circa 1771-1849) married Sarah Dix (circa 1771-1816) children were Ann French ( circa 1802) who married Thomas Osier - I would love to find out more about this line did they leave England??; and John French (circa 1800 - 1873). b) John French (circa 1800 - 1873) married Sarah Smith ( circa 1809 - 1836) children were Ann French (1828 - ), Daniel French (1832 - 1921) and George French (circa 1834 - ). John married a second time to Elizabeth Brown. c) Daniel French (1832 - 1921) [My great great grandfather who emigrated to Tasmania Australia] married Harriett Beams (1833 - 1910). They had 10 children, alll born in Tasmania: James William, Sarah Ann, John George, Caroline, Harriett, John William, Daniel, Mary Ann, Lionel george, Florence Lavinia. d) My great grandfather was Daniel French. Kim, Though we are away from home and our notes at the moment, I believe there was a Daniel Tilton French born 21 August 1771 in Stratham, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. I do not know who he married but his father ought to be Thomas French, born 14 March 1739 in Stratham and his mother Anna Tilton born 13 February 1748.
