    3. My 4ggrandfather George Washington Evans was b 23 Oct 1777. His son, my 3ggrandfather "Elder" John Evans, BTW, was married to Eunice Clark a daughter of John Clark, Sr. & Mary French and she was a daughter of Aaron French (of Aaron French and his Descendents fame.) I've also got another "George Washington" in my ancestry, George Washington Conrad, though he was b 1805. I wonder what the record is for the most distinct lines with a George Washington in them? I have heard of the French Family Chart #31, but I don't know how to get a copy. I am very interested in comparing that chart to what I have gathered. Are there any sources listed for the information on the chart? I am also curious about the Washington middle names for this guy and his father (who was born in 1782). Were people naming their children after George Washington even before he became President? > > Thanks, > Deb > > > > > -------------- Original message ---------------------- > From: "Marilyn Horton" <mteach209@msn.com> > > Deb. he is George Washington French, Jr. b.25/26 Sep. 1821 Vigo co. 3. >From family names and looking at other stuff, I think it was very popular in the 19th century to name babies after presidents or other respected, prominent people. Also, they gave sons the surname of a grandparent on the mother's side. I am sure that is where Warner French got his name. I just can't find them. mhh
