    3. Jonathan - William French (born between 19nov1602 and 5june1603; immigrated USA 1635; died 20nov1681, Billerica, MA age 78) is my paternal ggg, ggg, gggrandfather. We are cousins. My lineage is William, John, William ... Would you be interested in sharing information? Scott French ----- Original Message ----- From: Jonathan Whitney To: french@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, January 26, 2007 1:42 PM Subject: Re: [FRENCH] French Family in VT Mildred, You don't give us much information to go on. Do you know Ezra's father's name or where Ezra was born? My Frenches went from Billerica, MA, to Cambridge, VT, before migrating to northwest Illinois. My 2nd great-grandfather Asa Mason French was born in Cambridge, but his father Jacob was born in Billerica in 1771. His grandfather (Jacob's father) was also named Jacob and had a son Ezra who was born in Billerica in 1746. I'm sure this is not your Ezra, but the families (at least my French family) tended to repeat the names in succeeding generations. Henry Hazen's book "History of Billerica" is my source. I do not know if it is completely accurate, but it is so far the best information I have. I have not checked the census records. The book shows that this Ezra died a few days after birth, but that does not mean that one or another of is siblings may have moved to VT and continued the name usage. I guess what I'm suggesting is that Billerica, MA, may be a good starting point for you in your search. I looked through the book quickly, but didn't find anything, but other records, births, deaths, census, etc. may yield the information you are seeking. Hazen's book is available through Higginson Book Company of Salem, MA, or through the Billerica Historical Society's web site. Good luck in your search. 3. Jonathan - Since we share the common ancestor, WILLIAM FRENCH OF BILLERICA, I will resend this message to RootsWeb with the subject: WILLIAM OF BILLERICA, JACOB OF ASSINGTON. I am doing so because the thread, [FRENCH] French Family in VT, applies to my lineage but not yours. And I would like to discuss the connection between WILLIAM and JACOB as a stand-alone topic. Thanks, Scott French ----- Original Message ----- From: SCOTT To: french@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, January 26, 2007 6:03 PM Subject: Re: [FRENCH] French Family in VT Jonathan - William French (born between 19nov1602 and 5june1603; immigrated USA 1635; died 20nov1681, Billerica, MA age 78) is my paternal ggg, ggg, gggrandfather.
