    1. Re: [FRENCH] Henry FRENCH and Elizabeth ERSOM or Elizabeth EARSOM
    2. Marilyn, I am glad to hear from you. I think I have noticed a Phillip French in an early IN census and wondered if he could be related to my French family. What have you heard about the Ersom family and the relationship to your French family? I have Henry and Elizabeth's children as: 1. Christiana French (b. 1771) m. Bennett Bull 2. Mary 'Polly' French (b. 1776) m. Godhart Smick 3. Rebecca French (b. abt 1780) m. Simon Pancake (1st ); Daniel Nield (2nd) 4. George French (b. abt 1782) m. Elizabeth Sturman (my line) 5. Susannah French (b. 1785) m. John Ludwick 6. John French (b. 1788) m. Mary Lue Nield 7. Dorothy 'Dolly' French (b. 1791) m. Henderson Vermillion 8. Henry French (b. abt 1795) m. Sarah 'Sally' Purley 9. Elizabeth 'Betsy' French (b. abt 1800) m. George R. Nield I have collected a lot of French information over the years. Some of it comes from a lady in Indiana who does not use a computer. She has done research in many of the counties you mention. George French & Elizabeth Sturman lived in Vermilion County, IL. There was a David French who married one of Elizabeth Sturman's sisters (Rebecca), but it's not known whether he is related to the Henry French family. They lived in Warren County, IN. Do you have any leads on Phillip's parents? Who was Phillip married to? Maybe we can fit a few more pieces of the puzzle together. They had 2 son's, Joshua b June(July) 1813 and John b Dec 1814 there. Later unk. when they are div. and boys must have been taken by Wm. as not with her on 1820 census of Dearborn Co Ind. These boys later worked on River Boats. Cassandra mar. Apr. 1818 to Moses Brannon(an) in County next to Dearborn Co. She used name of Keziah Davis. but thery lived in Dearborrn Co. It is believed that they lived closer to the Court house in the next Co of Franklin than to the one in Dearborn as to get mar. in Franklin Co. In. She d in Tama, Tama Co. Iowa at 95 yr.s of age in 1890. I have a picture of her and her obit. 3. Have you run across a James B. French (born 1832) and Julia Ann Brown (born 1838) family? This family was in the same area as Phillip French.
