My George Will French was born somewhere in New York ca 1833-1834. He was in Fayette, Wisconsin in May of 1859, and in McHenry County, Illinois in August of 1862 when he enlisted for the Civil War. I have no information on his parents or where in New York he was from. Charlie - Since we have a 24/25 y-chromosome allele marker match, we have a reasonably recent common ancestor. My lineage is proven to WILLIAM FRENCH OF BILLERICA, FFA CHART #2. Since this thread has strayed from the original George French query, I am also sending this message to RootsWeb with the subject: WILLIAM OF BILLERICA, JACOB OF ASSINGTON - hoping we can find a common connection through mutual conversation. Thanks, Scott French ----- Original Message ----- From: Charlie To: french@rootsweb.com Sent: Wednesday, January 31, 2007 5:49 PM Subject: [FRENCH] George W.
