I am working on the French Family also on my grandfather's side. I found out that his father's name was William French who was married to Nancy Chapman. I saw that you have a william french in your line and I was wondering if this was the same one. I have been trying to find his parents. If you can help me I could use the help. Many book records say that Richard was William's nephew, but no proof.
