Mara; I used to get your newsletter setc. in 1990's. I believe I sent you my 2nd grt grandmother's picture but if not I will. Let me know. She was Cassandra French b in 1797, ( my memory just now.) I also have pages from the Brannan Bible where she wrote all names and vitals at 2 diff. times in her 95 yr. life. I have not found her parents as yet. I found her 1st spouse name was William Davis(* no more on him). They mar. abt 1811 unk where but may been Dearborn ( or maybe Franklin) Co.'s Ind. She had 2 sons, Joshua b abt. June/July 1812, John b Dec. 1813 Dearborn Co. Ind. It has been established that they must have divorced with William taking these boys as they are not on her 1820 census with her and new Spouse, Moses Brannon ( an). They mar. in Franklin Co. Ind. and lived in Dearborn C0. Ind. She mar under this name, Keziah Davis in Apr. 1818 in Franklin Co. Ind. It is believed that the Court House was closer where they were living in Franklin Co. than in Dearborn Co at that early time period.. I have not found William on any census but he is listed as Joshua's father in a Court Record of `1824/1826, ( memory) when Joshua was bound to a person with last name of Guard ( as I read it) as he was called an orphan. Unk. why because his mother, Cassandra was still living in Dearborn Co. Ind. at this time. It may been that William had died??? The Brannan's left Dearborn and went to Jackson Co. Ind. by 1830 as a son there in 1830. Both these boys were also in Jackson Co after 1829 as listed in mar. Paper's there. several John Davis, listed unk which if 1 is this one. They both worked on River Boats most of life.. I found that they also may been after 1830 in Bartholomew Co. Ind. as John may have mar. there??? I also found John in 1861 as mar to a widow with last name of Christy. Some of this I found after last contact with you ref; to Cassandra . She died in Tama, Tama Co. Iowa in 1890 and I have a copy of her funeral notice. They in Kozsta,. Also moved from Jackson Co to Iowa Co, ( Marengo), Iowa in abt 1852. Her picture is oval in a frame and she is wearing a white night cap lookingas if she has lost her hair and also her teeth. May been in early 90's as d. at 95 yr.s in 1890. Maxine ( was Westerfield) now WILTON.. Cassandra and Moses were my 2nd grt grandparents. I think name of KEZIAH is as spelled for a male's name. Unk why she took it when she mar to Moses Brannan. Maybe she was given that spelling when born as maybe that was her birth given name. Unk. I still have not found who her parents were. Nor if they were in Dearborn also. There was a French family in Green Co. Tn as Moses was born there and maybe that is how she knew the Brannan's. Unk why the divorce from William. No proof other that, no boys with her in 1820 census and fact that William must have d. by 1824/26 when court item in Dearborn calling Joshua an Orphan. I am wondering if the Brannan family came to Dearborn and her family also and she met up with Moses and William found them together and took boys and left Iamstill at same address as was in 1990's. last name changed to WILTON.
